Supervising a thesis
Enrolment in a PhD programme requires the agreement of a thesis supervisor who must hold an HDR (Habilitation to Direct Research) and be affiliated with the MIcrobeS Doctoral School.
An HDR-qualified supervisor affiliated with the Doctoral School may supervise up to three PhD students simultaneously.
A maximum of two PhD students may be funded through doctoral contracts financed from the State payroll, by the FRM for candidates recruited through the Doctoral School, or through Paris Cité IdEx funding (PPU, InIdEx, international IdEx contracts, CCE contracts, etc.). The third PhD student may only be funded through the laboratory’s own funds (ERC, ANR, EU funding, host positions, interface contracts, DIM, ANRS-MIE, CSC, etc.).
Co-supervision arrangements, like sole supervision, count as one towards the supervision limit.
